More Stuff

More fall/winter inventory is arriving and the latest is the Nashua Handknits Magazine!

This is broken down into 3 different "chapters". The first is Harvest which features garments sized for the entire family. The second section is Office which features garments for today's working woman. The last section is Natural Focus which features earth friendly fashion.

Another new yarn in the shop is Nashua Geologie. This is a great light and airy self-striping yarn that knits as a worsted weight yarn. There is great pattern support in the Nashua Handknits Geologie book.

October Already?

I don't know about you, but I can not believe that we are now into October. Where does the time go?

September was a busy month with all the new inventory coming in. We actually are still receiving more, so keep checking back to keep up to date on all the new stuff.

Don't forget - this Friday night is Friday Night SP-IT Nite (SP-IT = SPin - knIT - we've changed the name since there are some that stay beyond Open Spinning in the afternoon and spin into the evening). If you'll be coming Friday night, send me a note or comment here so I have an idea of how many of you to expect - 6 - 8 pm.

I'm enjoying the cooler days and evenings - makes me think of what projects to cast on! My list is long and I also have a goal this winter of spinning a sweater's quantity of yarn. How about you? What are your knitting/crocheting/spinning plans for the fall/winter season?

Are you a fan of Kim Hargreaves?

Are you a fan of Kim Hargreaves? If so, you'll want to come in and check out her latest book "Thrown Together" which features sixteen garment and accessory patterns.

"Mix it up and have fun with your look, from twenties chic to forties glamour, girly froth or relaxed tomboy."

Cute, Cute, Cute patterns! This is another great book to add to your knitting library.

FRESH!

If you haven't been in the shop lately, we've been adding new yarns and books, to the point that we have had to add more shelving units!

We are now starting to carry Berroco yarns. To start out, we are carrying Ultra Alpaca, Peruvia and Comfort. They also have great pattern books (and some nice patterns available through their website too).
We've been keeping the delivery drivers busy the last couple of weeks. Yesterday's delivery was three big boxes of Malabrigo! We've freshened up our stock of Malabrigo Worsted and received a few more colorways in Malabrigo Silky Merino too. Our "Wall of Malabrigo" is looking good again!

Keep Checking Back - We've got lots more fresh stock to announce!

Getting Caught Up!

We're finally getting caught up on unloading the boxes of great new stuff and have most out on the shelves - now it's time to get everything loaded up in the online shop.

First up are some new Noro books. We have 3 new ones in so far this season - Jane Ellison's Noro Family, Noro Volume 24 and Jenny Watson Designs Catwalk.

We also have 2 new books from Debbie Bliss: Rialto Classics (which uses the Debbie Bliss Rialto yarns) and Winter Essentials (using her Cashmerino yarns, Luxury Tweed, Alpaca Silk and more). Ella Rae has put out a great book, Book 12, which features great sweaters and cardigans for the Junior sizes - ages 5 to 12 years. All the patterns in this book use worsted weight yarns.

Noro Yuzen

We're finally making some headway on the boxes and boxes of new yarn and books arriving! We've got lots out on the shelves already and are starting to put some of the yarns and books in the online section.

One of the new fall yarns from Noro is Yuzen. This is a DK weight yarn, with a blend of wool, silk and mohair. Each 50 gram hank has approximately 121 yards. As with all Noro yarns, the striping that you get is fantastic, and this one feels soft to the touch too. There is great pattern support in the new fall Noro books that we have in, but will work great with any dk weight pattern. I can definitely see some fingerless gloves and a matching scarf out of this.
